Mesa Or Ares Retaining Wall System sierra Slope Stabilization System Using Tensar Geogrid bentofix Geosynthetic Clay Liner (gcl).
Bentofix GCLs are sandwiched composites of high-swelling sodium bentonite clay needlepunched between two geotextiles (at least one non-woven). When hydrated with fresh water under confinement, Bentofix becomes a natural low permeability hydraulic barrier resistant to a wide variety of chemicals. Bentofix GCLs are used in a broad range of environmental applications for contaminant containment: landfill caps and base seals, secondary containment at storage facilities, contaminated soil remediation projects, clay core replacement in earthen dams, methane gas containment, stormwater detention ponds and sewage lagoons. Bentofix GCLs are used in applications where compacted clay or geomembranes have been used in the past. Project specific applications should be reviewed by an engineer at Terrafix experienced with GCLs before proceeding with a design. Bentofix GCLs offer many technical advantages over compacted clay barriers in many applications. Bentofix is not susceptible to cracking from freeze-thaw action or desiccation. Therefore, the hydraulic integrity is assured with a Bentofix GCL. Further, the tensile strength of the geotextile components of Bentofix allow the GCL to tolerate differential settlements with no loss in sealing ability. Contrast this ability with the settlement characteristics of compacted clay which can see cracking at very low strain conditions and a distinct advantage is apparent. Bentofix GCLs provide cost effective alternatives to traditional methods of waste containment. Many of the problems associated with the installation of compacted clays or geomembranes have been eliminated with Bentofix GCLs. Soil specific permeability tests which are often required to determine the suitability of native clays for containment purposes are unnecessary with Bentofix GCLs as this data is immediately available. Considerable amounts of time and money can be saved by eliminating this requirement. ,P. The installation of Bentofix is also less dependent on the weather as it can be installed in freezing conditions, hot conditions, and in light rain. This is a major benefit when tight construction schedules can not afford a weather delay. As simple, cost effective, and technically sound alternatives, Bentofix Geosynthetic Clay Liners should be examined for your next containment project.

Installation Of Containment Systems Made Of Geosynthetic Membranes.
The installation of containment liners on the ground prevents the leaching of toxic liquid, particularly from landfill sites, into the groundwater. Terrafix's containment systems are made of geosynthetic membranes laid out on the ground, hot wedged, heat sealed and protected by sand overburden. Terrafix also provides installation of more complex lining systems which consist of geotextiles, reinforcing geo-grids, geosynthetic drainage medias and geosynthetic clay liners that co-exist with geomembrane liners.
