Sicom Systems Ltd.

Sicom Systems Ltd. is one of just a few North American companies
that provides advanced algorithmic research and development
services to industry and governments. Sicom's mix of products
and services are unique to the aerospace, military, and homeland
security sectors.

Sicom Systems Ltd. is an engineering company that provides
research, design and development services applied towards the
development of advanced radar, communication and biomedical
systems. These systems are characterised by the presence of
complex sensors used to transmit and receive signals, for the
purpose of deriving critical information about their
environment. In modern systems, the signals are digitised
(converted to numbers) on reception. Sophisticated signal and
data processing algorithms can be developed and optimised to
best extract the desired information from the digitised signals,
while simultaneously rejecting unwanted interference. Sicom
specialises in developing these advanced algorithms which
provide the intelligence and situational awareness in modern
systems.

Sicom also develops custom, computer-based simulators that
accurately model existing and newly proposed systems with
sufficient fidelity to enable system design and algorithmic
optimisation and system performance activities to be carried out
reliably. These simulators allow system developers to test out
and refine various system and algorithmic configurations in a
computer, without having to build a series of prototypes. This
saves development programs substantial time and money, and
reduces downstream risk.

Due to the highly technical nature of activities that Sicom
performs, its greatest asset is its people. Sicom employs the
highest caliber engineering scientists with graduate degrees.
Sicom's engineering scientists are able to efficiently research
the latest signal and data processing techniques and apply them
to building advanced systems.

Products

Radar Simulators

Mt-tracker
Sophisticated radar tracker software. Incorporates MHT (multiple hypothesis tracking) algorithms and numerous other association and filtering algorithms. Developed in C++. Low cost tracker solutions can be customized for sector surveillance or site protection applications in marine and air environments. (Keywords: GMTI, MTI, AMTI)

Low Probability Of Intercept Signal Processor
Wideband, low probability of intercept (LPI) signal processor (SP) for real-time, radar and communications electronic support measure (ESM) missions. Flexible, software radio design makes the LPI-SP easily integratable with any wideband receiving system.

Low-cost, Homeland Security, Radar Surveillance System
Sicom's low-cost, radar sector surveillance technology provides solutions for Homeland Security missions such as site protection, ship protection, and anti-smuggling missions along waterways.

Services

Radar Systems Design Research, design and development of advanced radar concepts, radar signal processing algorithms, and radar simulators under contract to government defence departments and industry. (Keywords: adaptive signal processing, synthetic aperture, defense contractor, homeland security, low-cost radar solutions, site protection, sector surveillance, anti-smuggling)

Communications Systems Design Design and evaluate advanced communications systems. Develop communication system simulators to assist in designs and performance analysis. Particularly active in wireless communications, and multi-channel base station design and signal processing.

Biomedical Systems Design Design, simulation, and performance analysis and implementation of advanced diagnostic imaging systems. Particular interest in advanced, ultrasound imaging transducers, beamforming and image processing for 3D electronic volume data acquisition and imaging.
