Saft's reputation for performance and reliability stretches back
to 1944. A subsidiary of Saft S.A. in France, a member of the
Alcatel Group, Saft designs, manufactures and supplies a
complete
range of uninterruptible power supplies, battery chargers and
rectifiers to ensure quality electrical AC and DC power to the
industrial and telecommunications sectors. Saft also
distributes
vented nickel cadmium batteries to provide the most reliable
energy storage device.
The Canadian head office includes 72,0000 sq. ft. of
manufacturing, engineering, office and warehouse space. In
addition, Canadian sales and service offices are located in
Calgary and Montreal.
Export sales represent approximately 55% of total sales and are
distributed worldwide through Saft subsidiaries or local
representatives. Many products sold domestically are in turn
exported.
All Saft products are CSA and/or NRTL/C approved
and are manufactured within an ISO9001-1994 certified quality
program.

Nickel cadmium pocket plate, sintered plate, and plastic bonded
electrode batteries are offered to provide the most reliable
product. This is a must storage battery in applications
requiring maximum reliability or exposure to large temperature
fluctuation. Applications range from solar storage batteries to
UPS and switchgear applications.

UNINTERRUPTIBLE POWER SUPPLIES
With capabilities of providing a single phase unit up to 100kVA,
along with separate bypass feed, and parallel capability, Saft
Nife's equipment is ideally suited for providing power for
critical industrial applications. Process control applications
are our specialty, with generating stations and petro-chemical
clients across Canada and around the world. The overall product
ranges from 5kVA to 100kVA in single phase and up to 150 kVA in
three phase configurations.
Inverter Systems
INVERTER SYSTEMS
In many applications, a DC plant may already be available. In
these situations, there are cost savings as well as reliability
advantages to going with an inverter and static switch only
configuration. Saft Nife can provide products ranging from 5
kVA
to 150kVA, for floating or non-floating DC power plants.
Chargers/Rectifiers, Battery
BATTERY CHARGER/RECTIFIERS
A wide range of models and ratings are available in single or
three phase, 50 or 60 hertz AC input configurations and standard
DC output voltages. Saft Nife holds a strong share of this
market by supporting large OEM's such as Yuasa Exide and GNB
Battery Technologies Inc., as well as supplying customized units
to individual costomers.

distribution panels are also available.
