Coanda Self Cleaning Water Intakes
The coanda is a self cleaning overflow-type water intake. The
product uses stainless steel, tilted wedge-wire screens.
The water flows over a weir, a curved stainless acceleration
plate smoothes out the water and directs the flow down over the
tilted wedge wire screens. The screens sit on a steep angle.
The water goes through the screens into a collection chamber
then into a pipe.The debris; insects fish eggs etc. (everything
larger than 0.25 mm.) in the creek continues downstream. The
intake is self cleaning. Routine maintenance is cleaning off
algae growth as necessary.
