Scouten Mitchell Sigurdson is an independent employee owned
mechanical and electrical consulting engineering firm active in
a broad range of construction related projects. Professional
services offered include feasibility studies/reports, appraisal
of existing mechanical and electrical installations, engineering
design, preparation of working drawings and specifications,
inspection and project supervision, detailed energy conservation
studies, commissioning services and O&M manuals. SMS can operate
either as prime consultant or as a sub-consultant to engineers
of other disciplines or to architects, depending on the nature of
the project. SMS also has experience in joint-ventures and other
types of multi-disciplinary arrangements. SMS operates primarily
in Manitoba and North-Western Ontario, but also operates across
Canada and has completed projects in the U.S., Pakistan, Zambia,
Ghana, Guyana, Malaysia and Antigua. SMS maintains a staff of
approximately 50 professional, technical and support staff.

Addition Of Cooling Towers
SMS Engineering Ltd. (SMS) can offer preliminary engineering, detailed engineering design and contract administration services for the addition of packaged or field-erected cooling towers and associated cooling system modifications. Such systems are able to eliminate thermal loading of natural water systems by industrial or utility process cooling applications.
Indoor Air Quality Assessment
SMS Engineering Ltd. (SMS) carries out detailed investigations of indoor air quality problems and provides recommendations for energy efficient solutions. Design and contract administration services will also be provided where required.
Site Inventory And Spill Risk Assessment
SMS Engineering Ltd. (SMS) will carry out a detailed assessment of potential sources of oil or hazardous materials spillage, including on-site material storage, transformer installations, material handling and processing equipment cleaning, process uses etc., and provide recommendations for mitigation measures where appropriate. Mitigation measures may include improved handling and storage methods, spill containment, remote monitoring and alarm systems, oil skimmers/separators etc. Design and contract administration services will also be provided where required.
