Mevex Corporation
Mevex specializes in pulsed, microwave, electron
accelerator technology. We have developed a simple,
reliable, industrial accelerator system; provided hardware
accessories and consulting services to many users of
accelerator technology; and established a service arm to
provide support for a wide range of linac products
(industrial, therapy and radiographic). Our exports include
customers from Thailand, Sweden, Turkey and the U.S.A.
Presently, our facility has several accelerators operating at
energies up to 10MeV in a large radiation shield.
Corporate achievements and activities:
- Participated in ASTM subcommittee E10.01, writing the
procedures and requirements for radiation sterilization QA.
- Establishing an e-beam processing facility exclusively for
sterilizing disposable medical products.
- Reconfiguration of old medical linac systems for industrial
applications.
- Designed and commissioned a demonstration irradiation
facility where industry can do R&D ``by the hour``.
- Consulting services for users of radiation technology:
shielding, human engineering, ozone gas management,
radioactive gas generation, dosimetry, product handling,
and commissioning services.
- Contract irradiations of high value materials like human
bones for transplant, gem stones, military electronics, food
products and medical disposables.
- Mevex also designs and manufactures accessories for
accelerator systems: scanning magnets, electron guns,
beam monitoring devices, scan chambers, custom control
systems, solid state master oscillators, and variable voltage
gun pulse transformers.
- Distributors for EEV. Mevex sells magnetrons and
thyratrons across Canada at very reasonable prices.

Industrial Accelerator System
Scanning Magnets
Electron Gun Systems
Mevex designs and builds electron gun systems for accelerators.
We provide the electrical and magnetic modelling as well as
control electronics and interfacing to the existing linac.
Beam Monitoring Devices
Mevex designs and builds non-invasive electron beam monitoring
systems. They are capable of measuring the pulsed beam current
and position without intercepting the beam.
Scan Chambers
Custom Control Systems
Mevex can design and build PLC/PC based control systems for
existing equipment. This can bring an old machine up to the
level required to function in a 'connected' factory environment.
Our systems have remote diagnostic capability over the internet.
The machines can even be operated remotely.
Solid State Rf Drivers
Solid state, pulsed microwave sources. L and S-band.
0-480 Watts peak power.
Custom interfaces available. Standard interface is compatible
with Siemens Mevatron and PRIMUS. Can be adapted to Varian,
Mitsubishi, GE, Titan,....
