Forintek Canada Corp. is Canada's wood products research institute, operating out of two world class laboratories in Vancouver and Quebec City. Its national research program is supported by industry and government members, primarily in Canada. The program is directed by Forintek members and is focused on the priority needs of the solid wood industry. Forintek also provides research and testing services for both pre-competitive and proprietary research. Recognized for excellence, Forintek forms many research alliances worldwide, especially in areas dealing with international standards in wood use in buildings. The five major areas of research are:
Building Systems, Composites Manufacturing, Lumber Manufacturing, Drying and Protection, and Resource Characterization.
