Equipment for the analysis of mercury includes Class 100 clean benches, atomic fluorescence detectors, gas chromatographs, ICP- MS, specialized cleanup and digestion apparatus, and dedicated cleaning areas. Pb-210 analyses are carried out by alpha spectroscopy using an 8 chamber Ortec spectrometer. Cs-137 and Be-7 are measured on 2 Ortec HPGe gamma spectrometers. Modelling and interpretation of the data are services often provided.

Validation of tissue biopsies as a reliable measure of mercury in fish flesh. Applied atomic fluorescence technique to allow very small sample sizes and thereby permit measurement of mercury in fish without killing the fish that were sampled.
