Rust Grip

Super Therm
What is SUPER THERM? It is a combination of high-performance, water-borne acrylic resins, which cures out completely in one week to an extremely tough, durable, non-yellowing, water- resistant coating that also provides flexibly and ultra-violet stability. SUPER THERM offers toughness unmatched in the current market coupled with the flexibility necessary to meet the stresses of contraction and expansion without cracking or breaking down. This single development enables the paint to outlast all other paint products-20 years or more from a single application (based on the use of recommending coating thickness and proper application methods). Other paints will develop hairline cracks when the surface moves, through which moisture invades to develop blistering and finally peeling. SUPER THERM's flexibility and durability is accomplished through four different types of resins used in the foundation. Two acrylic resins blended together specifically for the purpose to achieve elasticity, adhesion, and provide a water resistance to ponding water. A urethane is blended in to provide a moisture barrier and bind all the resins together for added weatherability and UV- resistance. Finally, a special additive is blended into the resin mix to create a slower dry down to avoid any surface cracking due to our load of ceramic compounds, and to give a silky finish that enhances and extends the life of the coating in all climates due to its special polymers that guard against burn out. SUPER THERM can also withstand exposure to -60 degrees Fahrenheit without deterioration and, according to mil thickness, up to 1600 degrees Fahrenheit. SUPER THERM is designed with three separate ceramics-two reflectives with one deflecting radiant heat and the other working to reduce emissivity or reduce the heat build up on the surface of the coating. The third ceramic particle acts as a microscopic dead air space between the coating surface and the substrate to stop heat and/or cold conduction through the coating film. In testing, SUPER THERM outperformed one inch of styrofoam board, four inches of polyurethane foam, and 6-8 inches of batt insulation. This translates directly to dollars in your pocket. SPECIFIC APPLICATIONS There are no limits to the application possibilities for SUPER THERM. It can be used on metal roofing structures such as mobile homes, livestock barns, grain bins and oil tanks, refrigeration units, and metal buildings to help reduce ambient temperatures by as much as 25-40 degrees. This translates into reduced heating/cooling needs, less loss of animal life due to escalating ambient temperatures, greater protection for storage contents, and greater life expectancy for the structure itself. Exterior surfaces, likewise, enjoy greatly reduced temperatures, from metal pipes in the industrial field to the concrete surrounding the family swimming pool-anything that people come in contact with. Additionally, as part of a roofing system, there is no comparison for SUPER THERM's ability to withstand basic weathering for 20-25 years minimum, resisting everything from normal stress to hail stones to ponding water. Besides normal insulation uses, SUPER THERM can survive exposure to the inner workings of an acid incinerator to stop the heat and dripping acids from corroding the steel walls. All this with a U.S.D.A.-approved, environmentally safe formula that lends itself to possibilities limited only by one's imagination. February, 2002 -- We are proud to announce the official DNV Certification of Supertherm for maritime usage.

Sp2001-f High Temperature Coating
SP2001F is a unique blend of eight different ceramic compounds chosen out of over 6 years of research and 1000 compounds that combine and work together to form a heat block against extreme heat migration. Since the coating surface will come in direct contact with flame, a char enhancer was added to form a small char on the surface. When the char forms, it brings the ceramics up and into the char to allow the char to be tough and remain in place during actual fire conditions. This coating is a ceramic hybrid that is unique to the industry. It is not fragile, it becomes surface hard; and because of the ceramics, it will continue to insulate against extreme heat migration during a direct or indirect fire. Whatever surface is covered with this coating is able to offer extreme heat insulation through any substrate coated. This is not an intumiscent coating, but instead, a pliable film that reacts to flame. In comparison, intumiscent coatings swell upon contact with fire and form a char that is extremely lightweight and fragile, leaving them susceptible to damage during a fire from strong winds, flying debris and sprinkler systems. Once the char is brushed off, the existence of fire protection is eliminated. Clean-up of all surface areas (direct and indirect exposure) is extensive from the swelled coating. Cementious materials are very expensive to apply and have poor appearance. Some will emit toxic fumes during a fire. Cellulose materials look like a shag rug on the surface and will be affected over time by condensation and humidity. Unlike most fire barriers requiring 2-3 inches thickness (50- 70mm), SP2001F requires only 8 to 10 mm (350-400 mils) over wood and porous substrates, over metal 7 to 8 mm (300-350 mils) thickness to provide fire protection. The competing fire protection materials are either cementious and must be trowled on over wire mesh - which is time-consuming in its application and inflexible in its finished state, or blown-on cellulose - which is somewhat fragile and subject to surface damage. Intumiscent paints are applied thinly but when activated become fragile after expanding out to meet the flame. In other situations, two wallboard sections (5/8 inch thick-14mm each) are nailed together to provide fire protection. This is labor- intensive and impractical in most major construction areas. SP2001F relies upon the dense combination of eight ceramic compounds to catch the heat of the flame. When flames contact the face of the coating, it begins a glazing or surface hardening that becomes tough while sealing off any pores to heat, smoke or gas passages. When the coating surface completely hardens, it forms a solid block against heat conduction. The SP2001F will set hard and hold constant for the duration of the fire. In summary SP2001F is an extremely versatile high-temperature insulation and fire-protection coating that offers itself to uses across all industrial, commercial and residential boundaries. The fact that it is easy to apply, water-based, non- toxic and remains flexible until used, makes this coating a promising choice for those with high temperature, insulation and fire-protection needs.
