Career Skills is a private business and technology school
offering diplomas in Business Administration, Network
Administration for Microsoft windows NT and training in A+
Computer Repair. Career Skills faculty of 11 includes five
certified Network Administrators and is a Microsoft Certified
Solution Provider. Career Skills is affiliated with MacIsaac
Younker Roche Soloman, an established and well-respected Prince
Edward Island accounting firm, and benefits from the expertise
this affiliation provides.

The school offers private training for Federal and Provincial
government departments and for businesses. Career Skills also

Business And Technology Manager Diploma

Network Administrator Diploma This program prepares students as computer repair and network technicians by training them in Windows NT and giving them a solid foundation in Computer Software Application and Web Administration. Upon completion of this program the students will be prepared for their Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) Certification, A+ Certification and Microsoft Office User Specialist (MOUS) exams. Course duration is 24 weeks classroom instruction plus 8 weeks on-the-job training.

Computer Application Specialist Certificate This program provides comprehensive instruction in Windows 95/98, Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Access. Keyboarding and business correspondence are also components of this program. This certificate program can be supplemented with on site testing for certification as a 'Microsoft Office User Specialist' (MOUS). Course duration is 12 weeks of classroom instruction.

Business Administration Diploma Students receive training in Financial Accounting, implementation and operation of Manual & Computerized Systems as well as Human Resource Management, Marketing, and Personal Development. Additionally, this program assists students in acquiring the necessary skills in computer application software used in today's modern business environment. This program wioll prepare students to write the Microsoft Office User Specialist (MOUS) exam. Course duration is 24 weeks instruction plus 8 weeks on-the-job training.

Secretarial Studies Diploma Students in this program receive the necessary skills to efficiently perform the duties of an entry level secretary. Students receive instruction in desktop applications, manual and computerized accounting, keyboarding, machine transcription, filing and personal and business communications. Career opportunities may include office secretary, office administration, reception, data entry and processing clerk, software support specialist, bookkeeping, database designer etc.. This 32 week program includes an 8 week on the job training placement.

End User Support Specialist This program prepares students for an entry level position as a computer repair technician and end-user support specialist in application software. Students will will complete the 11 week Computer Applications Certificate Program enhanced with a 5 week A+ Service Technician course. This program prepares students for the Microsoft Office User Support Specialist (MOUS) exams and the A+ Computer Repair Certification exams. Graduates may explore any number of career options incuding computer repair technician, software support specialist, computer applications instructor, and office administration.
