clients experiencing data loss due to hardware failure, natural
disaster or software corruption by offering advanced data
retrieval techniques and outstanding customer support.

Company History

Partners Bill Margeson and Zhengong Chang founded CBL Data
Recovery in 1993. Employing more than 20 people, the company
offers data recovery services worldwide through its main
headquarters, via 20 authorized partners.

CBL specializes in recovering mission critical data due to
mechanical or electrical failure, virus activity, system
malfunctions, accidental erasure or reformat, water, fire or
smoke damage, and file corruption. Last year the company handled
more than 3,200 data recovery projects at their 4,500 square foot
facility. However, CBL Data Recovery did not begin as data
recovery specialists.

The company originally opened their doors offering hard drive
repair services. As the business progressed, the company dabbled
in data recovery. Eventually it became the core business and in
1994 the company ceased repairing hard drives to focus solely on
data recovery.

Service Offering

Consultation - CBL Data Recovery strives to offer comprehensive,
no-hassle service even from initial contact. Each call to CBL
begins with a free no-obligation call to a trained customer
service representative. Clients are asked about the events
leading up to their data loss and are counselled on the options
available to them. Media which is sent into the lab for
diagnostic tests will be tested and those results, including a
job quotation, will be made available to the client usually
within one business day, giving them the up front information
they need to make an informed decision. Customers only pay for
recovered data. In fact, the company's motto is 'No Data - No
Charge.'

Implementation - More than 85% of 'lost' data is recoverable. CBL
technicians have recovered data from dropped, fire-damaged and
water-damaged drives, as well as accidental media erasures.
Through their commitment to innovation, the staff at CBL has
developed in-house proprietary software and hardware solutions to
retrieve the maximum amount of data with a turnaround time of
less than two days. Customer service representatives keep clients
informed of their data status every step of the way via phone,
fax or E-mail.

Delivery - CBL Data Recovery recognizes the need to provide fast,
reliable service. To meet that demand the company has partnered
with delivery specialists Federal Express. Using state-of-the
art tracking technology, CBL can arrange next-day shipment of
data to many locations around the world, minimizing client
downtime. For even faster service, CBL utilizes direct
modem-to-modem transfer or high-speed T1 data transfer across the
Internet.
