PA Pure Additions is continuing research and development studies on shell waste utilization and has successfully used colorants so obtained in pigmentation of cultured salmon and Arctic charr. Chitin and chitosan have also been produced for industrial, biomedical and food applications. Research on natural antioxidants is being successfully pursued with the aim of seeking industry partners for commercial exploitation. Research is ongoing on value-added products form processing waste of other marine renewable resources, including seals: results to date are promising, and the potential for commercialization is being explored. Other marine-based products such as proteins, lipids, enzymes etc. as ingredients for food and pharmaceutical use are being actively investigated.
PA Pure Additions also offers consulting services to the Food Industry and Government organizations.
